Dear Honky,
I want to thank you for your work. Based on your experience I need to use our cubes in other ways....(like real nas, or streaming to other devices or vdr ) Will be useful to start from your enviroment and 'chroot' to some more complete system or distro. What I'm not able to do is to stop everything....in the past with the stopall command we kill RootApp and Dvdplayer application but with your last release after some seconds ( more or less ten) RootApp comes back and DvdPlayer too. Seems easy to add some usb external audio card (hi-fi fans will be happy for that), and I'm able to add mouse and (more important) keyboard using wireless devices. I compiled mplayer without video output and I'm able to stream to other network connected devices, but I need a clean enviroment to debug , because we have to understand how to use the video output. Please Honky tell me the right way to stop everything.

"kill crond" and then "stopall"!
Note that without crond, the Cube sometimes not start correct after standby... EDIT: The think with mplayer is interesting! - can i get more info or the Sources from you?

I'm interested in compiling my own programs to run on S800.
I could do it in my Debian chroot environment but it could be a lot better if they can run on the original S800 environment. Some hints about this? **Edit** I just realized this is a developer forum, until now I was not aware of it .I will look for the answer in the other posts. Sorry for the dumb request.

Yes honky,
The mplayer was compiled from chrooted system, i do only install a debian and chroot, then apt-get update all and then compile a normal mplayer that as normal is not able to find any video card or driver. The compiler 'found' a alsa sound card but we got no audio from my device. If I read an avi file and i try to stream out to other unit i had success. I'm writing using past, because with 'your' new release I had some problem to chroot again to come back to the previous setup. in fact my next step should be to test this compiled mplayer with the standard enviroment...but without RootApp and DvdPlayer running. More interesting will be to get mpeg from tuner and streamout to other devices..... PS I'm using a Fantec device 1262 v2
