Not that anyone seems to care, but I've made a little progress - when I clicked on Extract the latest version of the Extender program did nothing at all on my Win7 64 Bit, nor on my XP SP3. However the Extractor, which didn't do anything on my XP SP3, does extract the R700 firmware before returning to the 'Extract' screen. When I try to UnRAR the Rar file that's genereated, I get an error on several files (is this normal), but I could extract the rcS file that I wanted to modify. All I need now is someone to help me make it copyfree!!

I already successfully used the eXTractor (many thanks for that!), but I am heavily interested in modifying the fw on my needs.

I bought a S800 cube few days ago and when trying to record some tv shows or films (especially on RAI2 Italian Channel), I always get the message "Copy Protected" and the cube stops to record.... I already tried all the workarounds I found on the internet, I tried logging via telnet and adding the commands in dvdplayer_commands.txt, I tried Honki firmware and MHD firmware, but nothing worked.

I tried also with EMCXT, but nothing.
Have you any other idea that can help? RAI2 channel here, is a bit noisy, so this could be why none of the previous fixes did work...
please, help me in finding a solution, otherwise I could not use the CUBE for what it is intended to be used for. Many many thanks in advance for any suggestion you will send.

Just for information, I tried to record for four hours from Canale 5 (fine tuned) in Italy and it worked, then I tried the same thing on the same channel, but not tuned very well and... guess what??? it stopped recording after few seconds with message "Copy Protected".... So, now I know for sure...the Cube recognize some interference on the signal from antenna, as Macromedia protection.....
what can I do to avoid this problem? could an antenna amplifier resolve it? Or can I do some changes to the Cube to be able to record from Analog TV sources?

I would like to change the Q800 splash screen when the Q800 is switched on. I thought that just changing the logo_PAL.bmp should be enough, but after testing I see that splash picture has not changed.

Do you know where or what do I have to change in order to modify this picture? (I would like to have my own custom picture).
