@Lord:

i have some trouble with building yaffs2 image!

When i extract the s800h image file with unyaffs and rebuild it with mkyaffs2image in cygwin or when i copy it from win to linux and build it under fedora, the image file is much bigger than the original an the box will not init it...

Do you have an idea?

This is strange indeed...

It does not seem a problem with cygwin itself, as the same happens when you rebuild under linux...

mkyaffs2image takes as argument a folder containing the files to build as an image...are you sure there's nothing left in there (i.e. from the extraction process) that should not be included in the build process?

I have no probs rebuilding image within cygwin (apart there's no way to automatically make files owned by "root" user as you can for jff2 or squashfs...so must find another way to do it...)

If you think it will help I can send you my version of cygwin's "unyaffs" and "mkyaffs2image" tools and the procedure I follow...
Or as soon as I solve the "root" problem, can send you a "private beta" of my tool with extraction/rebuilding enabled...
