Hi LordOftheCubes
is it possible to modify the Ellion 600 with the tool? the firmware is on main site http://www.elliondigital.de/html/support.html ( http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?gjghtywdomo ) but it seems to be different respect to the other one.

Currently not.
The "install.img" file is a simple TAR archive, so you can easily extract it. Problem is that they're using a different flash file format (namely "YAFFS2") for "/" (the "yaffs2_1.img" file) and "/usr/local/etc" (the "yaffs2_2.img" file) images. Regards

thx, in the meantime I found the way to open and rebuild the yaff2 using unyaff2 (I had recompiled the linux kernel including yaff2 module but I don't understand how to mount the image ) and mkyaffs2image.

as root
mkdir 600root cd 600root unyaffs path_to_yaff2/yaffs2_1.img modify the fs cd .. mkyaffs2image 600root path_to_yaff2/yaffs2_1.img after you can recreate the original tar of the firmware
