Hello!!

I've recently bough the new Emtec K120 500G Movie Cube and quickly found some problems in subtitles reading. First, the Portuguese special chars don't appear, the are discarded. Second, in some movies that plays well in PC, subs go constantly unsynchronized.

Isn't there any new firmware that corrects this issues? I'm thinking give back the drive if the problems persists and no solution available.

i had the same problem with special characters, i called support about 2 weeks ago and they told me they would release a firmware update for the K120 in one or two weeks and that i should check their site periodically. i hope they will actually put it up soon and it will solve these problems.

Recently purchased Emyec k120 movie cube.Trying to play a movie with Greek subtitles , i discovered not greek language characters subs was supported.Any help please?

I have the same problem with my K120, the subtitles in portuguese doesn't work correctly. I have contacted the support and they haven't solved the problem, and not relesed any firmware.

I'm very desapointed with the product and going to return it to the dealer and change to other from another brand.

I have one multimedia player from Iomega and never give me problems of this kind.

The support answer that the problem is from the enconding of subtitles, but I dont think so. They work fine in my other player. It's firmware problem for sure.

I had to copy it to the cube, unplug from tv, plug to PC, copy file, plug to tv, update, unplug from tv go to pc erase file go to tv again and........works beautifully.
I am watching the subtitles with all the letters.
for me it did not work folowing the instructions with the update.

but how long does it take to update? mine just keeps stuck on "Reading"

Já consegui fazer o update, segui os passos do ficheiro de update, mas em vez de usar uma pen, usei um SD card, o update é bastante rápido, e as legendas já funcionam. Está perfeito.

If you can't make the update using a USB pen, try using a SD card, it worked for me. The subtitles work fine now.

Une astuce pour connaitre la version actuelle de ton K120 :
tu mets la version 1.0 du firmware qui est disponible (voir lien plus haut) sur une clef USB et tu fais comme si tu voulais mettre à jour ton emtec.
1) soit il te demande si tu veux remplacer la version en cours 0.9xx par la nouvelle version => et là tu dois répondre par YES/NO ;
2) soit il ne te demande rien => alors tu es d'office à la version 1.0 et si c'est le cas, il refait automatiquement la mise à jour sans te le demander.
