I've noticed the same...

There is a bug in EMCXT2. When you extract/recreate the firmware, the application adds the file copyfree.cmd at a incorrect place; it places it inside /loc-etc/dvdplayer/ when it would be just in /loc-etc/

There are two ways to solve it:

- add manually the file to /loc-etc/ (then you get two copyfree.cmd files... at /usr/local/etc/ and at /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer/

- edit /loc-etc/rcS and replace the two calls with the proper path... cat /usr/local/etc/copyfree.cmd to cat /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer/copyfree.cmd

Regards.

It's a bug indeed: "/loc-etc/dvdplayer/" is the right location, but the "cat /usr/local/etc/copyfree.cmd" line should be "cat /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer/copyfree.cmd"

Did miss this one, thanks for pointing it out (solved on next update).

Regards

Hi lord,

I have some doubts, maybe you can help:

Anybody know what chipset is installed on the K120?

How can I see the firmware version instaled?

There´s any chance of creating a version of the "Hacking Tool" that could include some options for EMTEC K120?

What about to create a firmware with music shuffle feature, and new codecs for RM/RMVB and mkv.

Tanks.

Yes, LordOfTheCubes, please, I beg you that you make a new firmware for the users of the new one K120 to be able to reproduce files RM/RMVB, mkv, h264, or at least that you do a compatible new version in spite of creating safety copies and modifying the firmware of this device. (Movie Cube K120)

Greetings. Thanks.

Lord

I discovered how to see the version installed on the K120:
In the main menu you must push 3 times on the Zoom button.

About the firmware for K120 I pray for you to help me, kastell and many others who bought EMTEC K120.

Please,
please,
please.

Tanks.

PS: Please, please.
